This makes the back of the drawer less wide than the front (about 1/32")
This is not a Bergelin trait.
Making the drawer slightly smaller in the back
is one of the things I was taught
many years ago in Barr Cabinet Shop
The double 'witness marks' are also an ol' habit I picked up from Ralph.
You'll notice them throughout the construction process.
They have many uses.
