My father shared with all of us kids his love for
these mountains. Many hours & days were spent traveling the back roads
surrounding Boone, NC looking for a piece of land to buy.
In the fall of '65 he purchased what is now the Springhouse Farm in Valle Crucis, NC
That, however, did not curtail the wandering about.
It only served to increase the range & frequency of our travels.
